Bully is the first book in the Fall Away Series by Penelope Douglas. The main characters are childhood friends who had a mysterious falling out the summer before freshman year of high school and Jared spends the next two years bullying Tate for some unknown reason. Tate studies abroad in France her junior year of high school and returns to her hometown for senior year a stronger person ready to stand up to the bullying. Through a bunch of interesting events the reader learns the driving force behind the bullying. 

I honestly wasn’t ecstatic about picking up this book because I assumed it was going to be really juvenile but it was very well written and mature. The story was also extremely intriguing and I had trouble putting it down. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
