This Love is a stand-alone novel by Anna Bloom.
My opinion of this book changed so many times while reading it. I loved parts and hated parts.
I think the biggest thing that annoyed me was the “flashbacks” to Amber and Freddy’s relationship 10 years ago. I get that it was important to the story but books that start out in present day and then jump back to the past and then back to present day just drive me nuts. It’s just a pet peeve of mine but I assume most readers are ok with that so don’t let that opinion deter you.
Overall the book was intriguing enough to keep me reading. I wish something bigger had happened though. The reader pretty much knew the entire time where all the “twists” were going to be so nothing ended up being surprising. The only suspenseful thing was waiting to see how certain characters would react to the twists we knew were coming.
